the nice thing about knowing that you’ll be gone for a long time is the realization that you have to maximize the remaining days of your stay with the people that truly matter. over the last week (up to a few minutes ago), my social calendar became full – flying here and there to temporarily say goodbye to real friends and express the sincerest gratitude for making the word “friendship” defined and well-entrenched into my system.
to kickoff the despedida season, dinner with the monde group was arranged at larry’s, serendra (but we patronized the menu of abe so we could feast on pinoy dishes, which i would definitely miss!). what i love about this group is the fact that we all grew up together as we were starting to carve our careers in the corporate world. despite the moving-out which we all did (yes, ironic as it may sound, everyone’s out of monde already), the ties remained – a clear proof that the companionship was not meant to just be circumstantial. thanks guys for always being there (literally and figuratively), my life as a first-jobber would not have been fulfilling without all of you!

next pit stop is at burgoo, rockwell for my jollibee team. the nice thing about this set is the fact that we never ran out of stories to share with each other (admittedly, some are juicy grapevine infos and gossips, hahaha!). thanks to sir joel for being the kindest, most supportive and most generous boss of all-time (salamat sa libre and flattering words when i used you as my character reference). thanks to a.j. for training me to be the right boss – i learned so much from mentoring you. thanks to kay for being the most reliable event organizer and for being my big sister (since i don’t have one), and to trixie for being there after several years of not seeing each other (congrats on the baby, you don’t look preggy though. hehehe!).

then, it’s shiela’s night. this honey and i also came a long way after meeting each other back in 2003. from just mere acquaintances, our relationship evolved into becoming a great confidante to each other (though there was something juicier in between which at this point is buried in the past already, hahaha!). i will miss our coffee updates, insightful conversations and witty hirits. above all, i’m sure you’ll miss me!
by the way, thank you for the nice shirt – it fits me right and it fits my new industry!

effortless funny faces

shiela: "awwww, i'll miss you july!", joseph: "awwww, kawawa ka naman!", wahahaha!

one last hug... (by the way, thanks to cityland's friendly manong guard for being our official photographer)
if there’s one thing that i cannot probably do on my own when i’m in jakarta already, it would be to do ktv! so, to my fellow frustrated singers – nons and aids, thanks for sharing this one last session. since my vocal chords will first hibernate, maghanda kayo pagbalik ko! hehehe! i’ll surely miss singing those 80s cheesy opm hits and the moments of agawan ng remote at mikropono.

finally, it’s the time for honeli/dlsu family. from nine (aids, bena, cris, j.a., laurence, mela, mitos, noel, nona), we are now down to five, and when i leave, there will just be the four of them left.
time flies so fast – eleven years ago, majority of us were just naive college freshmen, today, we all have our own wide wings. the collection of long years together will definitely speak for itself – we’ve been there for each other for the best and the worst, the ups and the downs. thank you for being a part of who i am now and who i will become in the future, i owe so much from each of you (naks, senti talaga!). so to reminisce where it all started, we had our traditional dinner-with-waiters-singing-for-the-celebrant at tgif, glorietta…

5 out of 9 @ tgif, glorietta: bens, nons, cris, aids, me

and just before i hie off to laguna to spend quality time with family and relatives, there was this one last hurrah over coffee and pasta. maraming salamat talaga, i’ll bring these moments over to my next life phase!

whew! that was quite a long, wordy and busy week – but i would have to say, time very well spent. so, you are probably wondering what the connection of all these to the post’s title – simply put, just like jollibee and wowowee, bonding with great friends is an indulgence i’ll surely miss (pardon the mushiness, the occasion calls for it)!
